Redfish are one of our favorite catches!
Redfish (Red Drum) are plentiful in both inshore and offshore waters near Saint Augustine.
Redfish spend their early years in the marshes, rivers and other protected inshore waters
around Saint Augustine and then migrate offshore at maturity.
Redfish are a year round inhabitant of the Saint Augustine area.

Redfish are fun to catch and one of the best eating fish you can catch on any fishing trip.
These redfish are ‘slot size’ and keepers!

That’s a Sheepshead (below left) we caught on an inshore fishing trip last winter. That’s a hammerhead shark (below right) we caught just off the coast of St Augustine.

These anglers (Above) are all holding Red Snappers caught while fishing offshore with Captain Danny of Long Line Charters. Although Red Snapper are currently ‘Catch and Release’ only, they are plenty of fun to catch! Other snapper species caught while offshore fishing in Saint Augustine that are ‘Keepers’ include Lane Snapper, Mangrove (Gray) Snapper and Vermillion Snapper.

More Offshore Fishing with Captain Danny
At left is a Hammerhead Shark caught on a Saint Augustine offshore fishing charter. At right is a Tarpon on the line just off the coast of Saint Augustine. The happy anglers in the center are holding Spanish Mackerel, also caught while fishing offshore. Spanish Mackerel can be caught on inshore fishing trips as well as offshore fishing trips with Captain Danny and Long Line Charters.

A 70 pound Wahoo A 20 pound Mangrove Snapper The sea tutle swam up to the boat looking for scraps

We ate the Wahoo (at left) and the Mangrove Snapper (center) and of course we released the Sea Turtle. This curious sea turtle swam right up to the boat!
